System shock 2 (commonly abbreviated SS2 or Shock2) is a science-fiction horror-themed PC game that incorporates elements commonly seen in first-person shooters and role-playing games. The title was developed by Looking Glass Studios and Irrational Games as a direct sequel to the seminal 1994 PC game system shock and was released on August 11, 1999 by publisher Electronic Arts to widespread acclaim. Despite poor sales, system shock 2 has since become a cult classic and is now regarded by critics as one of the greatest games ever made.

System shock 2 is a first person shooter come role playing game in which the player will play throughout the linear storyline collecting weapons, upgrading weapons and advancing skills and abilities.

The game can take up to 30 hours of play to complete.

Furthermore, the system shock series is father to Bioshock (you will understand why when you get into it).

Additional Info:
This game can be played in co-operative mode with an additional three players (four in total) on a local area network. Using Hamachi, the co-operative mode can be played online. I personally recommend the co-operative play, it is extremely fun with the full four players.

There are modifications available that can enhance gameplay graphic-wise and more.
System Requirements:
- Windows 9x.
- Pentium or K6 200 MHz.
- 32 MB RAM.
- DirectX 6 .
- Highcolor 4 MB PCI or AGP video card.
