Description The expanding oil slick in the Gulf of Mexico is starting to reach the US coastline, threatening five states and thousands of kilometres of wildlife habitats. A state of emergency has been declared by the governors of Alabama, Florida as well as Louisiana while two other states are at risk. Over the last five days, the slick has increased significantly in size. And forecasts show the affected area nearly doubling. Al Jazeera's Tom Ackerman reports on the unfolding crisis from Venice, Lousiana.
